Tropical Rhythm of Light and Escape
Coco Garden recreates a beach community through a contemporary vision of lightness, transparency, and freedom. The project is guided by the intention to inhabit the Costa Rican Pacific without imposing rigid boundaries on nature, allowing the landscape to become the protagonist of the experience.
The complex is organized around a central garden that acts as a connective element between a series of pavilions that appear to float within the vegetation. This composition, deeply tropical yet subtly influenced by Eastern architecture, proposes a balanced relationship between the built and the natural, where architecture accompanies the environment rather than dominating it.
The transparency and openness of the modules dissolve traditional dividing lines, allowing light, breeze, and vegetation to flow through the spaces. The interiors maintain an intimate scale, yet have the capacity to fully open toward the exterior, creating a fluid transition between private and collective spaces, between retreat and community. The result is a complex that minimizes frictions between inside and outside, where nature is free to evolve and guests find an environment that encourages slowing down, reconnecting, and attuning to the rhythm of the landscape.
